I love my family. I love hanging out with them, playing with each of their kids, watching them grow as parents, in their careers, staying updated on their lives and staying close with one another. We get together at my parents house in Lincoln just about every Sunday afternoon to eat lunch and enjoy each other’s company, for the most part ;) So when my wife, Amanda, had the idea to have a dinner with family and friends in their backyard, it was very fitting for us! Our good friends at O’Tillie Pork and Pantry have small dinners that they host about every other month and the focus of them is to gather and enjoy other people’s company around the dinner table, so it was perfect to have them put on a dinner for all 19 of us! We loved every minute of it, even when it rained towards the end, hence the Handmaid’s Tale look haha! We look forward to many more special times together! Enjoy!

This was the second brunch style wedding I’ve been apart of and I can honestly say that I’m in love with them! I hope to do more like them in the future! This was my first wedding of 2019! In the small town of Polk, NE on a windy January Saturday! One of my favorite things is really cool, old churches and Ashley and Josh got married in the cutest white chapel there, it was a dream ceremony spot! If you know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE gloomy/moody days. They are so calming and relaxing. I love sitting inside on gloomy days and drinking a hot cup of coffee and listening to music. Whenever great friends or family ask me to capture their wedding day, I’m always hesitant at first. There’s a small part of me that wants to just be apart of the day and enjoy it as it unfolds. But then there’s the other part of me that wants to be the person to capture this amazing time in these two people’s lives and to tell their story. I love being that person. I love filming things that matter. I love that people choose me and trust me to capture those memories. I want to document all the laughs, cries, genuine moments, weird ass moments and all the in-between for them to look back on years and years down the road. It's difficult to put in to words what this weekend in May meant for me. To be apart of my best friends amazing wedding celebration and also to be able to capture that day on video is something that is very special for me! Typically around mid April, it starts to warm up a little and feel a little more like spring. But anyone who has been to Nebraska or lives in Nebraska knows that the weather is on it's own schedule. And on this particular Saturday, it felt like mid December instead of mid April, a severe snow storm and mid 20's out. Kevin and Lauren's wedding day was so much fun to be apart of, and such an honor to be included, even if the weather didn't quite cooperate with us!
